On December 10, 2025, a high-capacity mobile unit for fighting outdoor fires was successfully demonstrated. The unit was developed with the aim of providing an effective response to increasingly frequent and complex fires in natural environments, landfills, forested areas, and hard-to-access terrain.

This innovative system represents a self-contained, robust, and reliable technical solution, designed for rapid deployment and operation in conditions of limited or non-existent infrastructure. During the demonstration, the system’s key functionalities were presented, including a high water flow rate, stable operation under demanding conditions, and fire suppression using a remotely controlled fire monitor and high-pressure firefighting hoses.

Purpose and Application of the System

The mobile unit is primarily intended for:

  • public utility companies
  • local governments
  • fire and rescue units
  • landfill operators and other entities facing large-scale open-area fires

The system enables rapid response, flexible deployment across various types of terrain, and significantly enhances the operational capacity of emergency response teams.

Key Results and Expected Effects

The deployment of the mobile unit for open-area fire suppression contributes to:

  • a significant reduction in intervention time
  • the ability to operate in areas without developed infrastructure
  • reduced damage to vegetation and built infrastructure
  • reduced air pollution caused by fires
  • improved public safety and operational readiness of field teams

The implementation of this project has made a tangible contribution to environmental protection and improved air quality, as well as to strengthening capacities for responding to climate-related risks.

Partners and Support

The project was implemented with the technical and financial support of UNDP, to whom we extend special thanks for their professional cooperation throughout the entire development and implementation process.

The project was funded with the support of the European Union under the initiative "EU for the Green Agenda in Serbia". The initiative is implemented by UNDP, with technical and financial support from the European Union and in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, in cooperation with Sweden and the European Investment Bank (EIB), with additional funding provided by the governments of Sweden, Switzerland, and the Republic of Serbia.
